Vanessa
Vanessa is a Honors Work-Based Learning student interning alongside of doctors and nurses at Specialty Orthopedics of Georgia. Vanessa is a Junior who is completing her Healthcare Career Pathway and has a genuine interest in this industry. During her time at the clinic she rotates between doctors, nurses and clinic managers who help her learn all aspects of the healthcare industry. Some of Vanessa’s tasks include; taking blood pressure, assisting patients to their exam room, sanitizing rooms prior to patients’ appointment, sorting medical records, observing doctors as they interact with patients, observing nurses as they chart and interact with patients and learning new medial terms as she interacts with medical professionals in the office. Her mentor states, “Vanessa is the epitome of what we hope for in an intern. She has exceeded all of our expectations since she has been with us.” Vanessa plans to continue her post-secondary education pursuing her dreams of working in the healthcare industry.
